Five Fav Things

Because of the fabulous new income I have been getting in the past weeks due to my summer job and babysitting, I've splurged a little lately, and bought myself a few things. Some of them I've kept tabbed in a window on my laptop for a while now, and others are things I didn't know I wanted until I saw in a store, and just had to have.

So, here it is... these are a few of my *new* favorite things.
1. First and foremost, I would like to announce, BIRKS ARE BACK!

I bought this platinum pair (top) at TJ Maxx a few weeks ago just to see if I actually would wear them before I invested a larger amount of money in a "real" pair of the actual Birkenstock brand. And, I have worn them to deathhh. I absolutely LOVE them. I've paired them with pretty much anything you can imagine. From a t-shirt and Nike shorts, to a cute tank and white wash jeans. I can promise, they will look fab with everything in your closet.
Then, the other day I was in Marshall's and found these floral ones (bottom). I think my mouth may have hit the floor in awe of their cuteness. I've gotten to wear them a few times now, and I'm still so in love.
(They're also super comfy, so that's always a plus when looking for shoes.)
A "real" pair is definitely on my WishList.

2. United States Map Pillow

I'm currently in the process of redecorating my room a little. We've painted the walls and added more modern decor. I had been looking around for vibrant/exciting pillows to accent my brown quilted comforter. I went in Final Cut to check out the new location, and ran into this gem. Due to the recent Wanderlust (a strong desire to wander/explore the world) that I have been infected by, I felt that it was fitting. The brand is "The Rise and Fall" which is sold online and at Urban Outfitters. I snagged it for $15, and I'm so glad I did.
(Final Cut also has restocked on their Free People attire.
I picked up a shirt that was originally priced $88,
and got it for $15, also. Who doesn't love a good deal?)

3. Wildflower Lotus Phone Case

I dropped my phone in a parking lot last week, and sadly, shattered the entire front screen. It was so bad that I could barely even see to do anything on it. Luckily, I was able to get it fixed the very next day. But, I also was determined to find a cute, but protective case. A few months ago, I discovered Wildflower on Instagram. The brand was started several years ago in LA, and each case is handmade upon order. (I also follow the owner's daughter just because her Instagram is super hip.) But, I love the style, colors, and designs of each case they produce. They frequently have sales, and the cases get marked $10 off. I finally decided to purchase one of my own. And, I love it!

4. Too Faced Cocoa Contour Kit

I have a few friends who spend the time to contour their make-up everyday. I never thought I would be one to get all into that. But, after watching video upon video of tutorials using the Naked pallet, I stumbled upon videos of contoured faces, also. I tried it a few times with old bronzers I had in my make-up drawer. But, they never turned out as well as the ones did that used this kit. I visited the Too Faced website probably every other day just looking at it (as if I stared at it long enough, it would just pop out of my computer screen. Lol. I wish.) Last week, I wandered around the mall while waiting for my phone screen to get fixed at the Apple store, and I went in Sephora "just to look" at it. Of course I couldn't leave the store without it.
It came with a "How-To" guide of three different looks to try.
I've loved experimenting with it these past few days.
I don't regret a single one of the dollars that was spent to make this bad boy mine. :-)

5. Pineapple Kona Pop Tea

I'm quite the coffee lover, or more like LOVER. But, while at Starbucks two weeks ago, a friend suggested getting a tea. I doubted it for a second, then asked the Barista which flavor was her favorite. She recommended the Pineapple Kona Pop. Pineapple tea? I doubted even more. But, I got it anyways (I'm trying to be adventurous these days. Lol.) I added half a packet of honey, which was also by suggestion. I let it cool for a few minutes, and then I was seriously blown away. The fruity, tart, but sweet flavors mixed together to form something incredibly delightful. Now, every time I go to Starbs, I have to hold myself back from getting an extra one (or three) to-go.
Definitely a must try, if you haven't already!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my latest new favorite things!
Now, go to Marshall's and get yourself a pair of Birks, and pick up a nice cup of tea on the way home. And, don't forget to add the honey! :-)
